COMPETITION FOR A STUDENT RESIDENCE ON THE SŁUŻEWIEC CAMPUS

The dormitory building has four equivalent facades set on a pedestal, which allows unrestricted pedestrian and bicycle communication in all directions. On the ground floor of the building, also a semi-public space with a green courtyard was created. The building's form is composed of two separate parts - a one-story pedestal and a glass superstructure. The pedestal part has been shaped in a very expressive way, in the form of an arched arcade providing unrestricted access to the courtyard of the building, and a passage through the building. The finishing of the pedestal will be made of precast concrete elements with a weatherboarded texture. The residential part placed on the pedestal is to be the opposite of the massive ground-floor section. A very regular line of the facade, with large glazing, creates a light body. The finishing of the frame forming the facade will be made of smooth precast concrete or plaster. The interior of the frame's fields will consist of a window set in a wooden frame.
