The residential building was designed in the city center as a superstructure of an already existing building. The characteristic elevation of the existing building is shaped by the barrel roofing in the form of three identical spans topped with arches. This volume has been treated as a pedestal for the residential part built above. The simple, functionalist shape of the basement has been treated as a kind of „objet trouvé” - it houses a representative entrance hall and a built-in garage, illuminated by two arched windows in the upper elevation of the facade. The ground floor of the existing building has been finished with prefabricated concrete cladding, while the residential part is marked by white, noble plaster. The tectonics of the designed block are created by evenly spaced deep openings of window and loggias. From the inside of the quarter, each flat has access to a spacious loggia, directed to the tree-lined yard. The palette of materials and finishes is complemented by the natural color of oak wood used for window and door carpentry.
